Apprentice Tool Builder


The Apprentice Tool Builder will work closely with our Sr. Tool Builders who will be fabricating and assembling complex tools for the aerospace industry.


· Assisting the Sr. Tool Builder in day to day activities.

· Operate various power tools and manual inspection tools.

· Train under the Sr. Tool Builder to run larger manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes.

· Complete other duties around the shop as needed.

· Make necessary repairs to metal details as directed by the Sr. Tool Builder.

Basic Qualifications:

· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends when needed.

· Ability to work well in a team setting and towards a common goal.

· Candidate must be mechanically skilled.

· Candidate must have relevant experience with metal fabrication.

· Candidates must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.

· Candidates must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

· Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work in a very fast paced environment.

Other Qualifications:

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

  • Manual milling and lathe machines.
  • Aerospace component manufacturing.
  • Reading and interpreting quality documents and customer specs.
  • Reading and interpreting customer provided or internal blueprints.
  • Previous tool building or use of a laser tracker.

Schedule: 6am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
